Message from Matt May 2, 2007
"I'm enjoying my time so far in Chicago. I am steadily increasing my list of private students (still have some available slots) and have spent many hours composing new music and working in the recording studio. I added a new instrument to my arsenal a short while ago...the AKAI EWI 4000 (as pictured above). If you follow the links provided below, you may find audio AND video clips of me putting it to use.
I am proud to announce that I am part of a production team who are known as KUNG FU KHZ (as in kilohertz). Just follow the link. We are dedicated to producing hits to be featured on TV, movies, and radio.
With that said, if you or someone you know is a singer/rapper and is looking for tracks in the hip-hop/rap/pop genres, you're in luck! We have something hot to offer you. Contact us for more details.
Recently, I was lucky enough to be asked to play with a new funk outfit led by my good friend Bryan Osborne. So far, we've only had a few shows but they've all been quality and its been a pleasure to play with such professional, talented musicians. Oh yeah...the group is called Jabberwocky. Check it out!
Also, for anyone around the Fort Wayne area that may be wondering, the Freak Brothers are doing well and are almost finished with our demo which was recorded at Sweetwater Studios. The music will be posted on our myspace site and our personal site respectively.
Take Care Friends, Matt"
Congratulations to the Freak Brothers!!! February 26, 2007
Recently at the Whatzup Best of 2006 Awards show, the Freak Brothers took home 3 Whammy awards (Best Live Band, Best Funk Performer, and Best R&B Performer). We couldn't be more thrilled and promise to keep working hard to deliver quality live music to the midwest.
Be on the lookout soon for new original tracks which will soon be available online. Stay tuned to mattcashdollar.com for more details and feel free to visit the Freak Bros. website and our MySpace Page . Happy 2007! January 10, 2007
With 2006 under wraps, Matt prepares for his first full year of life in "the windy city." Currently, Matt is teaching alto sax, clarinet, and flute privately and works a few nights a week at Sonotheque nightclub (1444 W Chicago). Also, there are a few new Chicago-based musical projects in the works. THE FREAK BROTHERS are currently recording their original music at Sweetwater Sound in Ft. Wayne and Matt makes trips back to his hometown periodically to perform with the FB's, Unlikely Alibi, and The Bee's Knees. For a list of performance dates, check out the itinerary. Matt relocates to Chicago August 28, 2006
Starting in September of 2006, Matt will be working at the Village Music Store and School of Music in Deerfield, Il (north of Chicago). You can schedule private lessons with him by calling (847)945-5321. Though his new home will be in Chicago, he will still be performing with the Freak Brothers as well as other musical groups.
